The profit rate is charged daily on your outstanding financed amount. For example, if the rate is 5.5% p.a., the daily charge is the financed amount multiplied by (5.5% / 365).
If the value of your shares drops below the maintenance margin level required by your broker, you may receive a margin call, requiring you to top up your account with cash or sell shares to restore the margin ratio.
